2006 FlashForward Finalists and Award Winners

flash.jpgI am suprised I missed this before. The 2006 Flashforward Film Festival winners have been announced. They are currently showcasing all the flash video winner and runnerup entries across 15 categories. A total of 90 videos from a wide range of artists. Great stuff indeed.

Also featured is a wide selection of interviews with many of the artists and developers. People from Adobe, Jibjab, Homestar Runner, Fuel, Crest Digital and many more talk about a wide range of subjects concering the present and future of flash. I'd much rather watch these guys any day instead of Micheal Arrington's Web20 hypecasts.

A word to the wise. All the videos will disappear sometime before October 15, 2006 so get your viewing in now.

Rinpa Eshidan "One Week of Art"
Added 20.Oct.2006
This is a great demonstration of collaborational fun art - some artists painting a mural, then re-painting it over and over again over the course of a week. There are even some bizarre moments of humour throughout, like when that horse walks by…

Damian Hirst discusses A Thousand Years
Added 06.Aug.2006
The very provocative work from Mr. Hirst featuring a live lifecycle of several maggots is on display again. He talks about influences from Francis Bacon and quite a bit about his feelings toward artists.

Latest Photos

I am still working with this space for photos. It is currently set as 11 rotating flash images from in and around the family farm. The obvious is to display my own photos, but one idea was to pull flickr photos each week based on a theme. This week could be photos European summer festivals, the next showers, etc. New content from many different sources is so much more appealing.
